and bike rides.

I am from arts and crafts
and mickey mouse pancakes.

I'm from teenage ninja turtles and
doug morning cartoons.
From everyday plaid uniform, weekend
prayer services and listening to the Word
on Sunday evenings.

I am from chlorine,
from Take your mark! and stroke!
Twisted fishing line, strobe lights and rollerskates.
I'm from borrowed shoes and strikes.
From weekly farmer markets and
park adventures.

I'm from different addresses
and from a stamped passport.
From Abba and Kenny G.
From pancit, lumpia, and rice with every meal.
I am from my daddy's common sense
and looks, and my mommy's big heart and dedication.
I'm from these values and traditions.
I am the memories I hold dear.
